Plenty of players walk into Tian Wen's Eyes on the Prize thinking it'll be a quick errand, then get hung up on the one thing the game barely explains: where the objective actually is. Before you deploy, do yourself a favour and pull three Wires from your stash. Don't rely on finding them on the fly, even if you've already got a pile of ARC Raiders Items sitting around from earlier runs. This quest is way smoother when you prep first. Miss that step, and you can reach the rooftop, find the repair point, and still leave empty-handed because you forgot the one material the task needs.
Start with the right route
Once you load into Buried City, head toward the southwest side of the map. You're not looking for a main landmark so much as a tucked-away section of rooftops west of Southern Station. That's what throws people off. The area is packed with uneven buildings, narrow gaps, and odd little ledges, so it's easy to waste time climbing the wrong block. If you keep drifting too far south or too close to the station itself, you've probably missed it. What you want is a roof terrace hidden among taller structures, not something that stands out from street level.
The rooftop marker to watch for
The easiest way to confirm you're in the right place is the blue tarps. They're the real clue. You'll usually spot them stretched over the edge of a rooftop terrace that has a scrappy Raider setup on it. Getting there can be awkward. You may need to mantle up one building, cut across a narrow roofline, then hop over from the side instead of approaching it head-on. Don't rush this part. Buried City has nasty sightlines, and if a patrol catches you while you're halfway across an exposed gap, things go bad fast. A lot of failed attempts happen before players ever touch the objective.
How to finish the repair
When you make it onto the right roof, look for a small camp with a solar panel connected to a damaged electrical box. That's the whole target. Walk up, interact, and use the three Wires to rewire the setup. There's no big fight attached to it, no long holdout, no extra hidden step after the repair. The moment the system powers back up, the quest registers as complete. That's the nice part. You don't need to survive the rest of the raid or reach extraction for the task to count, which takes a lot of pressure off once the interact prompt goes through.
Why this quest trips people up
What makes Eyes on the Prize annoying isn't difficulty in the usual sense. It's that the mission asks you to read the environment and trust small visual cues instead of a loud marker on the map. After one clean run, though, it clicks. Bring the Wires first, push west of Southern Station, look for the blue tarps, and don't overcomplicate the climb. Once you've done it, it becomes one of those quests you can explain in under a minute to a squadmate asking for help, especially if they're also hunting an ARC Raiders Key and don't want to waste another deployment on a simple navigation mistake.
