Placement of the BO7 Crosshair

Placement of the BO7 Crosshair Too Low (The Floor Stare).

When your crosshair points at the floor, or even waist level, you're asking your hands for a difficult correction in the last second while you already have damage.

What b07 bot lobbies looks Like

When you sprint, the crosshair moves towards the ground.

Only after visual confirmation that the enemy has been sighted can you quickly snap the target.

 Why mmoset gunfights fail

Players at higher levels aren't necessarily more rapid than you. They are simply ready earlier. Crosshair placement is crucial to a successful gunfight.

The best placement is: micro-adjustment, ADS and shoot.

As soon as you raise your crosshair, your enemies will feel like they're walking straight into your bullets.

The Fix: Treat crosshairs like eyes

We do not aim at the previous threat, but rather the one that will come next.

 The Height Rule

Indoors / Tight angles: Keep the crosshair a little higher (head-level). Engagements are quick.

Outdoors/Mid Range: Aim to the upper chest. This will be more forgiving of a slouch or a slide.

Moving: Your crosshair should follow the edge of your next corner or cover.

As we have seen in our reviews, fixing the crosshair position often improves Time to Kill more than adjusting your sensitivity.

It is easy to predict your movements (being a target).

If you always strafe in the same manner, or worse yet, remain still during a fight, then you become a regular target. Predictability can be a gift for your opponent. They will unwrap this gift with bullets.

 What it looks Like

Repeatedly use the same sprint-in time and the same peak angle.

 Standing still and ADS-ing.

Never use the same panic reaction (e.g., jumping or sliding every time).

 Why gunfights fail

It is possible to predict opponents' movements.

 1. Aim for the height and timing you want to use.

 2. They can easily track you, without the need to adjust their aim.

 3. Even if the enemy's aim is better than yours, you can still win a fight by simply cooperating.

The Fix: The Two Option Rule

It's not necessary to be random. That leads to aimless shooting. It's enough to make us unreadable.

 A Practical Baseline

Close Range: Strafe and Occasional Jump

Mid-to-Long range: Drop shot occasionally or use a quick crouche-peek.

Re-peeks : Never look at the exact angle and height in the same direction twice.

If you discover that you are a "one-button" player (e.g. jump shot), force yourself to adopt the 2-Option rule:

 Fight A : Jump.

 Fight A: only punishes.

 Repeat.

You can easily break your enemy's reading by using this simple technique.

Get it together: the 30-Minute Routine

We use this routine to improve quickly without spending all day grinding. This is because it isolates all the variables.

 Q1: Why do people camp?

It's not true. Camping is a refusal to take up space. Playing cover means taking space intelligently* and not donating any free kills. We can still play quickly, we just need a wall or doorframe to fall on.

Q2: Is it necessary to have a very high aim in order for this to work properly?

No. These fixes in practice reduce the raw target required to win. If your crosshair begins in the right spot and you're not fully exposed, then your accuracy requirements drop and your fights become more consistent.

Q3 What's the most obvious sign that I'm running without cover when I'm in a hurry?

You may have an exposure problem if you are frequently killed and wonder, Where was he anyway? You entered a lanes that had many angles of you and you couldn't check them all.

Q4: When will I be able to keep my crosshair natural?

It usually takes several sessions. Most players take a few days to stop sprinting with the default floor-aim, and about a week to make it automatic.

The following is a summary of the information that you will find on this page.

The three habits build on each other. For example, rushing to cover without cover gives opponents control; low crosshair placement causes you to be late for every shot; and predictable movements make it easy to aim. Fighting feels cleaner when we correct even one mistake; if we correct all three, deaths no longer feel unlucky but look avoidable.

Use the exact same loop for every match: Anchor - Scan - Slide. Also, make sure to keep your crosshairs raised before corners. You'll feel a huge difference in your confidence and consistency.
